So Friday I went to the Emilie Autumn concert in Pomona with my friend Cait. We both had VIP tickets so we were super excited and nervous. We went in while she rehearsed her new song "Take the Pill" and then did a quick violin session. After that we got to line up and meet Miss Autumn herself! We received a poster, which was an image from her book that she drew of Lithium. We had a chance to talk to her real quick, get an autograph and take a photo as well. My friend Cait went ahead of me. Emilie flipped out when she saw the leech waist cincher I had made for Cait for Christmas. She really loved it and was so excited to see it and said she had never seen anything like it before, which was a huge compliment for me. After Cait had her time with Emilie it was my turn. I was so nervous and excited. She hugged me and I gave Emilie some gifts I made her-a black and white heart shaped scented pillow, pink and white Victorian skeleton key earrings, and a pink, white and black garter, with dangling key. She loved them and hugged me again and kissed my cheek. I showed her my skeleton key necklace with her image attached and a cameo of her attached to a belt I made. She was so happy to see them. Then my friend mentioned how when I lived with her we would listen to her on our way to school and sing her songs at the top of her lungs and I told her how we would also listen to her when we were getting ready for school or just around her house and she smiled and said how glad she was to hear that. She also told me how she liked my hat that I made-which was pink, had feathers, a cameo, ribbon and lace galore and a black rat on top. She then autographed my cover of her book "The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls." After my time was up, I asked if I could kiss her, and she smiled, pursed her lips and allowed me to kiss her on the lips. It was so awesome. She is soooo nice and sweet! Since we were VIP we were allowed to stay in ahead of everybody so we had the front row. The show started and it was amazing as usual. It was filled with glitter, skits, and the usual girl on girl teasing and kisses. This was my third time seeing her, but my first time VIP style. During "Fight Like a Girl" Emilie came and grabbed my friend Cait. During "God Help Me" where the crazy tea party ensues, Contessa poured tea on me, and I just stood and laughed and Veronica Varlow gave Cait a cupcake. During the "Rat Game" where Veronica chooses a female member of the audience to kiss, my friend waved her sign wildly. Although she wasn't picked, Veronica came over to Cait, got on her hands and knees and kissed her! It was awesome. During another song Emilie came over to our corner and Cait and I had another chance to grab onto her and touch Emilie, along with other Plague Rats who went crazy at the chance of touching Emilie. The show was amazing, and she sang 7 songs off of her upcoming F.L.A.G. album. My friend Cait and I sang along to the songs at the top of our lungs until our voices hurt. Although I only spent about a minute or so with Emilie it was the best moment of my life since Emilie and her music means so much to me. Although I may not have her specific mental disorders, I do struggle with my own, and I relate to her music in different ways. Her music helps me a lot, grounds me, and calms me down, especially during moments where my Generalized Anxiety Disorder tends to flare up. After having such a great experience, Cait and I vowed to only go VIP from now on, no matter what. I think next time she tours again, I will make Emilie her own hat and definitely a waist cincher since she loved my friends so much. And yes, I framed my VIP pass!
